TEN SECONDS

ROBERT GOLD

The third entry into the Ben Harper series is as good, if not better, than the first two. The reader now has an intimacy with the characters and the writer's style. Ben Harper is an investigative journalist and sometimes blogger. Examining criminal activity, hoping to expose perpetrators. Mr. Harper's mother and brother were murdered, which motivates him to be an expert in his job. In this story, Ten Seconds, the reader is asked to keep their eye on the ball, as seemingly every page reveals something unpredictable and at times, egregious. Harper has to find his kidnapped boss, and it seems like an impossible task. We get up close and personal with Harper, the perpetrators, and the crimes they have committed. Robert Gold, the writer of this tremendous series, knows how to keep readers thrilled. Ten Seconds can be read as a standalone; however, this reviewer would suggest, for the sake of continuity, that the first two in the Ben Harper series be digested before reading this tremendous third entry.
