THEY SAY A GIRL DIED HERE
SARAH PINBOROUGH
They Say a Girl Died Here, by multi-talented writer Sarah Pinborough, is a book that's hard to put down. This is the story of Anna, a young woman who moves to a town she believes isn't what it seems. It doesn't help that in the past two young girls were murdered and that these girls had at one time or another hung out in the house where Anna now lives. As so often happens, Anna becomes obsessed and fatalistic, trying to get to the bottom of the alleged murders
Adding to Anna's obsession is her grandmother, who is suffering from dementia and seems to be reliving these past murders. All in all, the reader is surrounded by a sense of discomfort that encourages finishing the book in one sitting. As to the veracity of the murders and the mental health of the grandmother, only the reader can judge. The writer has written a book that will stay with the reader for months as they try to figure out what happened in this weird little town.
