BASED ON A TRUE STORY
SARAH VAUGHN
Formally struggling and now a wealthy and famous children's writer, Eleanor Kingman has what most people want. After purchasing a new home, she invites her adult daughters to celebrate her achievements. A film crew is shooting a documentary about Eleanor's dramatic change in circumstances. Against the backdrop of these preparations, Eleanor starts receiving dramatic and threatening emails that disrupt the celebration. Her daughters are not of much help as they have their own psychological issues to deal with, which leaves them little time to help their mother.
Based On a True Story, reveals what it's like to have wealth, fame, and power. It also exposes what so many people must deal with in this life: psychological problems and dysfunction. While many believe that a peaceful family life is an ideal worth striving for, it may not be worth the cost it exacts from those seeking prosperity, wealth, and power.
