Murder at the Spirit Lounge, by talented author Jessie Kidd, takes the reader once again into the world of ex-nun Nora Breen and her partner, Detective Rideout. What readers will find interesting is the transition from the religious life of a nun to civilian life, where she becomes a more than acceptable investigator, alongside her partner, Detective Rideout.

Using unconventional methodologies, Nora decides to hold a seance as a way to find the person or persons guilty of the murder. What happens at the seance is for the reader to know after picking up this involving and twisty mystery. The chemistry between Nora and her partner will also appeal to those readers who wish for a dash of romance in their mysteries
Murder at the Spirit Lounge can certainly be read as a standalone, although, as usual, I recommend that the reader, for the sake of context and entertainment, pick up the first in the series, called Murder at Gull's Nest.
