BLACKOUT

J. LUKE BENNECKE

Blackout: A Jake Bendel Thriller is the third in this quasi-realistic dystopian novel about power- not political power, but what the entire world uses to stay afloat. The premise is straightforward and elegant. What happens if the power grid and its infrastructure are successfully attacked and/or destroyed?

Jake Bendel is an engineer who may have a plan to keep this threat from becoming reality. Using Artificial Intelligence and his knowledge, Bendel believes he can neutralize the terrorist and ensure that a deadly blackout is not in America's near future. Of course, he faces almost insurmountable barriers, mainly that the villain has unlimited funds and the smarts to procure the resources, including the people she needs to actuate her plan successfully, bringing never-ending darkness to what was once the greatest country in the world.

The premise is possible, and its plausibility keeps readers afraid to turn the page yet compelled to keep reading. A definite page-turner.
